This year we will be holding two shoots in the summer, our Memorial shoot is on July 28 and one just for fun on August 5.

The Fall season will start on September 21 and go through to December 21, please check our website and Facebook page for details closer to the dates.

Come out and enjoy shooting shotguns at targets to win prizes and support your local Elks Lodge and the many local and national charitable events we provide!

Bring your own 12 Ga shotgun or borrow one on the day.

We shoot 12 Ga, 2 3/4 inch, number 8 shooting club target load shells at paper targets, which are 100ft from the shooting line.
You can shoot standing, resting on the shooting rail or by using your own shooting rest.

Due to the popularity of the event we offer prepayment for shooting lines. This enables shooters to reserve their favorite lines for all rounds one week in advance or for any multiple of weeks. Lines are reserved for a non-refundable, non-transferable deposit of $40, the remaining cost for shooting all lines that day will be due on the day of the shoot. If the person reserving the line does not show for the reserved week, the line will be re-sold. If the Turkey Shoot is cancelled or not all the rounds are shot, then a refund will be issued.
Shooters must be present to signup to shoot.

The Turkey Shoots are advertised on this website, our Elks website, our Elks Facebook page, our dedicated Turkey Shoot Facebook page, craigslist and the local Facebook buy and sell sites. So choose your media and keep informed.

The Facebook pages are always updated with the latest Turkey Shoot information, especially when the weather impacts us!

We would like to say a big THANK YOU to all of our supporters and helpers who continue to make this a special event. This is a valuable fund raiser for the Crestview Elks and of course a great social event.

This is a family friendly turkey shoot, all shooters and guests are requested to be polite and courteous to others at all times.

All shooters and guests will adhere to all instructions given by the range safety officer and the following rules:

  • Only shells provided by the safety officer will be used during the Turkey Shoot, NO EXCEPTIONS.
  • The safety officer will give the shooter a shell when it is their turn and advise when it is safe to shoot.
  • It is the shooter's responsibility to ensure their gun is safe to shoot.
  • While others are downrange DO NOT handle any firearm.
  • Always treat your firearm as if it is loaded.
  • Always point your firearm in a safe direction down range (when safe to do so).
  • Never put your finger on the trigger until sights are on target.
  • The safety officer will give the signal when it is safe to shoot at the target.
  • If your gun fails to fire when the trigger is pulled, handle with care, point muzzle downrange for a minimum of 15 seconds before attempting resolution.

  • Shooters can enter as many rounds as they like and for multiple targets per round.
  • Maximum barrel length permitted is 36 inches excluding choke.
  • Scopes and optics are permitted.
  • The target line is 100 feet from the shooting line.
  • We shoot 12 GA, 2 3/4 inch, number 8 shooting club target load shells.
  • Shooters may shoot from a standing position or rest their gun on the rail/stand at the shooting line.

  • The paper targets used are standard letter size, which are equally spaced along the target line.
  • The targets are placed and removed ONLY by members of the Elks or their helpers.
  • After the safety officer gives the all-clear signal, the targets are removed and handed to the judge.
  • The judge determines which target has been shot closest to the center.
  • In the event of a tie, the judge will choose the next closest shot from the tied shooters targets or call for the tied shooters to re-shoot.
  • Appeals to the judge's decision must be made before the winning target is handed to the cashier. All shooters are welcome to witness the judging and inspect the targets.
  • The judge will hand the winning target to the cashier, who will write the round number and associated prize. The target will then be handed to the winning shooter.
  • When the winning shooter is ready to collect their prize, they will hand the winning target to the Elk in charge, who will then give the prize to the shooter and notify the cashier.
  • Splatter targets will be shot twice by the tournament leader's nominated shooter.

Some advice for the first timers:

  • We shoot 12 GA, 2 3/4 inch shells, make sure your shotgun can shoot these.
  • Bring eye and ear protection with you.
  • The target is 100 ft. from the shooting line, we recommend a shotgun with at least a 26 inch barrel.
  • Shotguns spread (pattern) the shot, we recommend using a choke to form a tighter pattern.
  • Make sure your gun is operating correctly and safely.
  • Make sure your gun is clean and properly lubricated.
  • Consider bringing a cleaning snake with you if you intend to shoot multiple rounds.
  • This is Florida; bring a hat, sunscreen and consider wearing sunglasses.
  • Bring a chair or back your truck up towards the shooting line and sit on the tailgate.
  • When parking make sure there is adequate space for people to walk past your tailgate when lowered.
  • Talk to some of the regulars for advice - choose wisely.
  • Enjoy yourself!

Elks Lodges bring so much more to their communities than just a building. They are places where neighbors come together, families share meals, and children grow up. Elks invest in their communities through programs that help children grow up healthy and drug-free, meet the needs of today’s veterans, and improve the quality of life.

Our lodge has an active social calendar where we all come together to enjoy fellowship and plan community activities. Two of our annual events are the Exceptional Children's Day and the Kids on the Water event, which are both free for our local children.

The Exceptional Children's Day provides a safe and fun filled day for those children that need extra care and their families. We have water slides, live music by Autism Sings, face painting, arts and crafts, Captain Davy's magic show and balloons, free food and drink, and more. This event is held in May, at our land on Elks Lane, so keep an eye out!

The Kids on the Water Day provides children with the opportunity to enjoy a free boat ride on the Santa Rosa Sound. There is also face painting, arts and crafts, Captain Davy's magic show and balloons, free food and drink, and more.
This event is held in May, at the Okaloosa Island Lodge - not to be missed!

Consider joining the Elks to make a difference to our community.

Our turkey shoots are an important fund raiser to enable our lodge to continue with all the events for our local children and military families.
